Donations in Kind
Some visitors prefer to donate essential gifts when they visit our orphanage. Such efforts are very
thoughtful and generous. In particular, we always need:
Rice, canned food, noodle, cooking oil, fish sauce, soy sauce, spices, salt, sugar, seasoning,
garlic, fruit, etc.
Health and personal care items:
Soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, detergent, dish washer, toilet washing liquid, etc.
Skirts, shorts, long pants, jeans, shirts, t-shirts, belts or flip-flops etc.
Reading books (English & Khmer), notebooks, school bags, whiteboard markers, marker refill ink, scissors, etc.
Sometimes there are unintended consequences from visitors good intentions. It is not a good idea to donate:
Skimpy or synthetic clothing.
Playing cards or other similar items which maybe reminiscent to the demise of our children's families or
lives before they arrived at our cooking place.
Candy (sweets) which can create dental health problems. Dental treatment is very expensive.
Please make sure your donations, especially reading books, are culturally relevant and useful.
When you arrive at our cooking please give your gifts to a member of staff so that they can be
distributed at a suitable time. Please contact us if you are in any doubt about what to bring with
you at email@example.com
It is usually a lot cheaper to buy these items in Cambodia rather then in your home country. Save
carbon, save money and invest in Cambodian’s local community. If you are unable to visit our
cooking class some international shipping, courier or airline companies may transport your gifts free
of charge. Please check in advance and tell them that you are assisting our cooking class.
